Ori Arrives Home

Once we landed on the final sample design for Ori, our plush maker carefully boxed him up and sent him our way for approval before production could begin.

It was a Friday night—I came home late, tired, not expecting much. But there on my front porch sat a small, mysterious box. Strange to receive a parcel so late at night. I brought it inside, opened it up, and there he was—Ori—almost popping right out of the box like he couldn’t wait to meet me.

I’d seen photos, of course. Countless photos. But nothing compares to seeing him in real life for the first time. That moment? Pure magic. I fell in love instantly. We’d brought a little character to life—something completely original—and that meant everything.

Ori isn’t just a toy. He’s the beginning of something much bigger. A brand-new Plushwushie universe, with rich lore, future characters, and whimsical stories waiting to be told. A new direction rooted in creativity, wonder, and connection. And now we had something real to share with the world.

Without hesitation, I messaged the manufacturer:

“I absolutely love him. Let’s go ahead and produce the 100 pieces.”

That very sample—the one I unboxed that night—is the Ori you see in all our photos.

A few weeks later, we received images of the production sample: now with his label (featuring a subtle nod to our new logo), and that special First Edition embroidery stitched proudly into the fabric—marking these 100 plushies as true originals.

Ori started as an idea in the mind of a 35-year-old boy who never quite figured out how to grow up. And now he’s real. A character that can be loved by children, collected by grown-ups, and treasured across generations.

We’re making great progress, and unless a big gust of bad luck blows our way, Ori is still on track for delivery this November. 🍂✨
